EXPLORE THE BEAUTY OF LENSBABY

One of the most fascinating and sometimes challenging aspects of learning to photograph with a Lensbaby is that they are all manual focus, something many of us have gotten away from with the convenience of autofocus being so good (and much better than our “aging” eyes). That said, the beauty of using any Lensbaby is that we get to see the effects of each through the lens as we are shooting.

While many people choose flowers and gardens as their primary subjects for using their Lensbabies, you can choose any subject and create unique images that stand out with minimal post-processing.

LEARN THE UNIQUE FEATURES & EFFECTS OF EACH “BABY”

Once you understand that the Lensbaby products produce special effects “in camera,” you are able to select the ones that you are attracted to the most and get started. Some are easier than others at the beginning, but all have their place. This workshop is structured to give you an overview of the effects of each collection of Lensbaby products, provide practical and creative tips for using them in the field, and to give you hands-on instruction to get you more comfortable with whatever Lensbaby you have.

The field session will be held at one of Jamie’s favorite gardens in North Carolina, Sarah P. Duke Gardens (Durham). It opens early, provides wide and beautiful selection of subjects to work with, and is close to places for lunch. The day is yours to work the magic with your own Lensbabies and try some other optics if you happen to have the Composer Pro. As a Lensbaby Ambassador, Jamie has quite the collection of Lensbabies and can give you direction and suggestions for using what you have and offering opportunities to sample others.

The post-workshop Zoom allows for image sharing and discussion of any challenges encountered after reviewing images created during our time in the gardens. In addition, if you’re considering adding another Lensbaby to your collection, you have an opportunity to save an additional 10% on all but new products with this link and promo code before or after the workshop.
